Jellyfish
4 base rows confine a digit to 4 cover columns (or transpose rows and columns). Those columns are reserved for the bases.
How to spot it
Filter to one digit. Count the base lines and the union of the crossing lines.
The common mistake
Candidates need not fill every intersection for Swordfish or Jellyfish. Equal base and cover counts are the essential constraint.

A worked example
This position comes from SudokuByte’s lesson on the Jellyfish. Gold cells hold the evidence; green cells are the pattern’s ends.

Where to look
Filter to one digit. Count the base lines and the union of the crossing lines.4 base rows confine a digit to 4 cover columns (or transpose rows and columns). Those columns are reserved for the bases.
Read the evidence in this position
For 1, the base houses are row 2, row 3, row 5, row 7. The covers are column 1, column 3, column 7, column 8.Why the deduction must follow
Each of the 4 base lines needs one 1. All 4 copies must fit into these 4 cover lines, without any two sharing a cover. So every cover is occupied by a base-line 1. No other 1 fits outside the bases.Apply the result
Erase 1 from r6c1, r8c1, r6c3, r6c8. The pattern may remove candidates without immediately solving a cell.
